Sascha Burns is an independent political and media consultant based at the top-ranked lobbying firm in the country, Patton Boggs LLP. She advises clients on political, legislative, and media strategy and lobbys Congress and the Administration on their behalf.
Burns is a frequent guest on MSBNC, the Fox News Channel and appears on Sinclair Broadcasting, whose local news programs reach 24% of U.S. television households.
During the 2004 election, Burns appeared daily on Sky News, Great Britain’s four-time Channel of the Year. Her interviews with award-winning anchor Jeremy Thompson on Live at Five were broadcast to 80 million viewers in 40 countries around the world. She will appear again on Sky News covering the 2006 midterm election and deliver through- the- night election analysis for the BBC.

In 2004, Burns was selected to anchor the official online coverage of the Democratic National Convention. She conducted immediate off-the-podium interviews with the Presidential candidates, former Cabinet Secretaries, Governors, Senators, Members of Congress, and party official keynote speakers. During the first 24 hours of Convention, 16 million viewers tuned into Burns’ interviews at a rate of 400 hits per second.
Burns served on the personal staff of U.S. Senator Sam Nunn (D-GA) and as National Advance Staff for Media Relations on the 2000 Gore/Lieberman Campaign. Fluent in Spanish, she also engaged in Hispanic outreach for the Campaign.
Burns co-founded and chaired the Young Democratic Candidates Network, a web-based political action committee designed to create a national farm team of young, progressive Democratic candidates competing in senatorial, congressional, state, and local-level races.
Burns, a graduate of Washington and Lee University and a native of Jefferson County, West Virginia, has lived and worked in Washington, D.C. since 1994.
