The Mock Convention is one of Washington and Lee’s most time-honored traditions. In 2008, Mock Con celebrates 100 years by remaining the most accurate student-run political convention in the nation.
Approximately 1650 students have already signed up to participate in Convention Weekend, making Mock Con the largest student organization on campus.
Students, professors, and alumni are all excited to make the Centennial Mock Convention the best in recent history! Our lineup of thought-provoking and animated speakers will be announced soon. In the past, Presidents Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter, and Harry Truman have all addressed W&L’s Mock Convention. Bringing recognizable speakers like these to campus is by far our largest expense and ensures national media attention for the Convention.
As an organization, we respectfully ask that you make a tax-deductible donation to the 2008 Mock Convention. You can mail a check to Mock Convention 2008, P.O. Box 4507, Lexington, Virginia 24450, or donate online. When donating online, be sure to designate Mock Convention 2008 in the Special Instructions area. Your generosity will help to guarantee nationally-known speakers for our main event on January 25-26, 2008.
If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact us at lesterj@wlu.edu and nardinia@wlu.edu. Thank you for your continued support of our beloved university and the Mock Convention.
Sincerely Yours,
